Useful links

The Bindery –

We are traditional english craft bookbinders, apprentice trained and heirs to over 100 years of skill and equipment. We are devoted to helping family historians, students and photographers have their work turned into wonderfully bound books, albums and portfolios. Our expertise and quality in repair work has been nationally commended.

East Yorkshire Family History Society –

In the real world of family History, Genealogy, it doesn't quite happen as easily as the TV shows would have you believe. What really counts more than anything is experience. By joining a Family History Society you will be able to share the experience of fellow members, happy to help you smash through those walls which we all encounter from time to time.

The Hull People's Memorial –

The Hull Remembers team have set themselves the goal of erecting The Hull People's Memorial in the centre of Kingston upon Hull by the end of 2014; the 100th anniversary of the commencement of World War One and the 75th anniversary of Britain's involvement in World War Two.

The most important part of this project is that it is to be funded, designed and built by the people of Hull, for the people of Hull, in honour and respect of those who lived through the bombing of our city and in memory of those who paid the ultimate price.

Visit their displays at The Hull Peoples Memorial, 22 Whitefriargate, Hull, HU1 2EX

Paul Gibson's website –

Besides featuring the many books Paul has written, the site also details some important parts of Hull's heritage, from the social history of Hull, the pubs and  breweries of Hull and Beverley, the streets and architecture, and the history of trade and industry in Hull.
