William Jackson Food Group

The Riverside Building, Livingstone Road, Hessle HU13 0DZ

William Jackson, the son of a farmer, opened his first grocers shop in Hull in September 1851, and the company is now a sixth generation family business. In 1974, the William Jackson Food Group became the first producer of frozen Yorkshire puddings, when it started supplying Butlins holiday camps. In 1995, the company started producing these puddings for the British supermarket chains, under the “Aunt Bessie’s” brand. This brand is now one of the fastest growing food brands in the UK, producing over 20 million Yorkshire puddings a week, as well as other meal accompaniments such as roast potatoes, and a range of desserts.
